In Kharkiv, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the home for the elderly, where a fire broke out on January 21. During the inspection of the site of the tragedy, Deputy Minister of the Interior Serhii Yarovyi reported to the President on the circumstances of the emergency situation and the course of rescuing people and extinguishing the fire.

January 23 in Ukraine will be declared a day of mourning at the national level due to the death of 15 people in a fire that broke out in the home for the elderly in the city of Kharkiv.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy received a letter from President of the European Council Charles Michel and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen following the 22nd Ukraine-EU Summit, which took place on October 6, 2020 in Brussels.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal as regards the need to comply with Ukraine’s international obligations when amending the legislation in the field of public procurement.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in the ceremony of honoring the memory of servicemen of the Armed Forces who perished that day in the battles for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a meeting with OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs Ann Linde.

The Cabinet of Ministers compared quarantine restrictions in Ukraine with those of 18 European countries, and Ukrainian quarantine turned out to be the mildest. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during the traditional conference call on the prevention of the spread of COVID-19 chaired by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
