The President personally negotiated the release of Vitaliy Markiv with the leaders of Italy and requested to facilitate the retrial for a fair decision.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with President of the Venice Commission Gianni Buquicchio. The Head of State thanked for the fruitful cooperation. In particular, the Venice Commission provided more than 150 conclusions and expert assessments on draft laws and laws of Ukraine on the judiciary, the Anticorruption Court, etc.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Peter Maurer. This happened a hundred days after the ceasefire agreements, which had a positive effect on the security situation in Donbas.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy expects the renewed composition of the Commission on Legal Reform to work out proposals on judicial reform in the near future. The President stated this on ICTV’s Freedom of Speech on Monday.

The election of the new composition of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine must take place on a competitive basis, transparently and openly. This was emphasized by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on ICTV’s Freedom of Speech.
