Ukraine, all of Europe, and the United States are pursuing a common course. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this following a joint phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump and European leaders.

The conversation took place during the visit of the Ukrainian President to Germany. Participants included Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz, President of France Emmanuel Macron, President of the Council of Ministers of Italy Giorgia Meloni, President of Finland Alexander Stubb, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Council António Costa, President of Poland Karol Nawrocki, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

The European representatives noted that they value President Trump’s leadership and determination to end the war as soon as possible. In particular, the conversation addressed key things that can ensure peace and make it lasting.

The parties coordinated their positions ahead of the meeting in Alaska. Ukraine, all of Europe, and the United States are pursuing a common course. In particular, the killing must stop immediately; diplomacy regarding Ukraine and Europe must be conducted together with Ukraine and Europe; and security must indeed come with strong guarantees.

The President of Ukraine emphasized that pressure on Russia works, peace has no alternative, and clear results are needed – results that can be achieved together.

Donald Trump proposed a follow-up call after the meeting in Alaska. The conversation also covered possible formats for further contacts and meetings.
