As part of the working visit to the Republic of Croatia, President’s wife Maryna Poroshenko met with children from the Ukrainian community. Together they created and filled out the new pages of the national project "Book of Peace".
Presenting the album in which Ukrainian children leave their family photos and write wishes of peaceful life to Ukraine, Maryna Poroshenko noted that "for over four years, our native state has been forced to protect the integrity of its borders. And Ukrainian brave warriors do everything to bring peace to their native land - for the sake of the future of Ukrainian children".
24 regions of Ukraine, as well as representatives of diasporas from the USA, Canada, Turkey, Portugal and Spain have already joined the “Book of Peace” project. On August 23, on the Day of the State Flag of Ukraine, a solemn presentation of this photo album will take place in Kyiv.
The meeting was also attended by the Ukrainian servicemen from Ternopil region who participated in the anti-terrorist operation in the east of Ukraine. Now they are undergoing rehabilitation in Split.
This year they were the first to visit Croatia thanks to the program initiated by the Poroshenko Foundation in cooperation with Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Croatia Ivica Pirić. The next group of Ukrainian defenders will arrive in Split in September.
The President's wife congratulated Ukrainian defenders and thanked them for their heroism, courage and love for Ukraine. She also wished them a quick recovery and return to their home.
