In New York, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva.

The Head of State thanked the IMF for all its support programs that are helping Ukraine’s economy withstand.
“The IMF will help find part of the funding Ukraine needs to maintain its financial resilience next year. I thank the IMF for this decision. Ultimately, every economic support measure is about ensuring fair protection for our people,” the President emphasized.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Kristalina Georgieva discussed the importance of voting on laws that are part of Ukraine’s commitments to its partners. The Head of State noted that the Verkhovna Rada has already voted on some of these decisions, and all other laws needed for financial support will be passed by the end of the year.
The President briefed Kristalina Georgieva on the security situation in Ukraine and changes in Russia’s air attack tactics. The Russians are trying not only to destroy life itself, but also to disrupt the functioning of businesses and the state as much as possible. According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, this is why macrofinancial assistance is especially important for Ukraine right now.
