Olena Zelenska Visited a Festival Held as Part of the School Nutrition Reform in Bukovyna

First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, together with Minister of Education and Science Andrii Butenko, took part in Bukovyna Health Food, a healthy eating festival held at several educational institutions in Chernivtsi as part of the School Nutrition Reform.

Festival visitors could explore the Health Food Fest outdoor space, featuring quizzes, a laboratory for examining the composition of food products, and an interactive discussion with psychologists about the impact of emotions on eating behavior. An expert discussion with parents about family eating habits was also held, and visitors had an opportunity to prepare healthy food and drinks.

The festival continued at Horishni Sherivtsi Lyceum. In the cafeteria and kitchen, a Healthy Taste Workshop was held, where adults received practical advice on healthy eating habits.

“When we launched the School Nutrition Reform in 2021, we set ourselves the goal of encouraging an entire generation to choose high-quality, healthy food. The war has not changed that goal. But for food to truly contribute to health, healthy habits also need to be supported at home, and parents and entire communities need to become our like-minded partners and co-creators of food security for their children. And festivals are a step toward that,” the First Lady emphasized.

In addition, during a special meeting, Head of the Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration Ruslan Osypenko spoke about the implementation of the School Nutrition Reform strategy in Bukovyna.
