Olena Zelenska Visited Psychosocial and Rehabilitation Facilities in Khmelnytskyi Region

The First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, visited the Krasyliv Community Resilience Center in the Khmelnytskyi region, as well as a hospital in Khmelnytskyi.

The center has already provided around 10,000 individual and group psychosocial support services to 3,500 people. More than 60% of them are veterans and family members of veterans and military personnel. All services at the center are free, and activities are tailored to the needs and requests of community residents.

A coordinated system has been established in the community among all providers of psychosocial services. It operates through a referral system that ensures people are informed promptly about the relevant specialist and supported until they actually receive the service.

“Another distinctive feature of the center is that both the city budget and charitable business sponsors contributed to its construction and setup, while a local NGO provides psychological support. The whole project is implemented by the Ministry of Social Policy as part of the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program ‘How Are You?’ It is precisely this joint effort of all parts of society – community, public sector, businesses, and the state – that delivers the best results and supports the resilience of the entire country,” emphasized the First Lady.

Olena Zelenska also visited the Khmelnytskyi hospital, one of the country’s key facilities treating wounded defenders. Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, over 12,000 warriors have undergone rehabilitation there.

The hospital houses the RECOVERY Rehabilitation Center and a Mental Health Center, which operates under a public-private partnership through the Return project. This is a modern space for patients in need of psychological, psychosocial, and psychiatric support.

“Through the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program ‘How Are You?’ I sincerely support initiatives that help people care for their mental well-being. Today, I once again see how many lives these initiatives truly change and improve,” concluded the President’s wife.
