At the command post of the 67th Separate Mechanized Brigade, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, spoke with the unit’s fighters and presented state awards to the defenders.

The Head of State received a briefing from the unit commander, Oleksandr Shaptala, on the operational situation within the brigade’s area of responsibility, which is defending Ukraine on the Oleksandrivka axis.
The brigade’s warriors also presented their own developments to the President, including their capabilities for producing explosives, as well as mines, munitions, radio detonators, and other components of in-house production.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with battalion commanders the moral and psychological training for warriors and its integration into combat training, aiming to achieve better results.
Special attention was given to the development of the unmanned systems component, in particular the protection of UAV crews and the arrangement of operator positions further from the line of contact through technical solutions. The importance of increasing the number of unmanned ground vehicles and their capabilities was also raised.
“We will try to increase funding further – in particular so that brigades can refine their developments and so that everything necessary can be done quickly on the spot, for specific operational needs,” the Head of State noted.

Battalion commanders outlined the units’ needs in armored vehicles and long-range artillery shells. The President noted that he would convene a meeting of the Staff regarding existing supply shortages.
The Head of State thanked the warriors of the brigade for defending Ukraine, its independence, and territorial integrity, and awarded the defenders with the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, III class, and “For Courage,” III class.
“We exist, we are alive. The whole world respects us. Above all, thanks to the strength of our warriors. I congratulate you on this. It is your great achievement and a great achievement for Ukraine,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
