In one of the medical facilities in the Rivne region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with warriors who are receiving treatment and undergoing rehabilitation after injuries.
The Head of State spoke with defenders who fought for Ukraine in various directions. Among them are warriors who defended Ukraine in the Kharkiv, Kherson, Dnipro, and Donetsk regions, and took part in the Kursk operation. They distinguished themselves during assaults on enemy positions in the Zaporizhzhia direction and in holding back the occupiers in the Kupyansk direction. In battle, the defenders sustained multiple shrapnel wounds and severe musculoskeletal injuries.
“We are very grateful to you for your service and for defending our country. I wish you a speedy recovery and rehabilitation,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The President presented the warriors with the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, III class, and “For Courage,” II and III class.
The Head of State was briefed on a new treatment and rehabilitation building, the construction of which was completed in December 2025. The capabilities of the new facility allow for an expanded range of medical care for defenders.
It includes a modern shelter for 450 people, additional inpatient beds, an emergency department with 150 places, five rehabilitation halls, three large modern operating rooms, and a helicopter landing pad enabling the emergency transport of the wounded.
“I consider this an example. I thank our doctors and resuscitation specialists. I see that our fighters who have sustained serious injuries are truly satisfied and have access to such rehabilitation,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy concluded.
