In the Zaporizhzhia Region, the President Held a Security Briefing With Military Command: Operational Situation, Air Defense, and Fortifications

During his working trip to the Zaporizhzhia region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a security briefing with the military command.

Acting Commander of the 17th Army Corps, Yaroslav Sydorov, reported on the operational situation in the South, the tasks for the brigades and regiments within the corps, and the military and personnel measures being taken to stabilize the situation in the Rivnopyllia area.

Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, briefed the President on engineering fortifications along the Stepnohirsk direction and the evacuation of civilians from designated areas.

A separate focus of the meeting was the organization of air defense for transport routes, logistics, and critical infrastructure of the Zaporizhzhia region. Ivan Fedorov reported on the use of electronic warfare systems, air defense systems, and interceptor drones to repel Russian missile and drone attacks, including FPV drones.

Commander of the Operational Command South of the Land Forces of the AFU, Mykhailo Sydorenko, presented a report on the operational situation in the Pokrovsk area.

The President also met with the servicemembers of the 17th Army Corps, thanked them for their service and defense of Ukraine, and presented state awards.

“Eastern Ukraine is, without a doubt, a major challenge. And here, on the Orikhiv direction, it has always been intense. I want to thank you and your brothers-in-arms, all the soldiers, officers, and sergeants, for defending this sector – our towns, the entire Zaporizhzhia region, and the city of Zaporizhzhia, which is so important. Thank you for keeping it alive through your defense. Zaporizhzhia is a key city. The enemy, of course, wants it – and we must, of course, protect it,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The Head of State also discussed with brigade commanders ways to stabilize the situation on the frontline, improve recruitment effectiveness, and strengthen warriors’ motivation.
