Since the Start of Fall, Our Warriors Have Liberated More Territory than the Russians Have Managed to Capture – Address by the President

Fellow Ukrainians!

There was an important report from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykhailo Drapatyi – I thank our warriors – we are seeing results on the front.

The situation in Dobropillia – we are destroying Russian attempts to launch assaults there, eliminating infiltrations. It’s not easy, but our guys are destroying them. We are defending our positions in other areas of the Donetsk region, as well as in the Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions. We are seeing results from the operations of the Airborne Assault Forces and the Third Army Corps – from our active defense. The trend this year continues – since the start of fall, our warriors have liberated more territory than the Russians have managed to capture. The same was true at other points this year.

We continue to press the Russians at the front. Dobropillia, Kostiantynivka, Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, Orikhiv, Novopavlivka, Novoandriivka, and Velykomykhailivka are all under Ukrainian control. We are also defending the areas near Kramatorsk and destroying Russian forces 20 kilometers from Zaporizhzhia, not 5, as someone over there in Russia is snowing Putin.

Our front is strong, and I thank every warrior and every one of our units that is carrying out its tasks in full. Today, I especially want to recognize the 82nd Separate Air Assault Brigade, which is carrying out missions in the Oleksandrivskyi sector – thank you for your confident assault operations and good combat planning.

I thank the warriors of the 128th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade, which is also fighting confidently and destroying the occupying forces in the Zaporizhzhia sector. I thank the 59th Separate Assault Brigade of Unmanned Systems and the 414th Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade – thank you, warriors, for your excellent results in destroying the occupiers in the Donetsk region.

We thank our assault units in the Pokrovsk sector. I also want to recognize today the warriors of the 1st Separate Unmanned Systems Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the timely and accurate delivery of our long-range sanctions to Russian territory. And I also thank the warriors of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and our intelligence services – the Defense Intelligence and the Foreign Intelligence Service – for their accuracy. Thank you all! Great job!

This week has been very significant in terms of cooperation with Europeans. Europe clearly understands what is happening and that Ukraine must be supported – and supported more in protecting lives. We are working to secure air defense. This is, of course, the top priority. There will be meetings in Europe as early as next week that should help us – help us significantly.

I just spoke with the U.S. President’s envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Our teams maintain virtually nonstop communication, and our teams are in contact every day. Clearly, there are many things that matter to all of us, and this war must be brought to an end – we are doing everything we can to achieve that. And we are trying to ensure that America’s position is strong. Peace comes only through strength – and through sincere cooperation. I thank everyone in America who supports us – Ukraine, our people – in this. People are always on the side of justice.

Ukraine is providing our partners with all the details of the current situation on the front, Russia’s attempts to destroy our energy infrastructure, and all the details of our shared capabilities. We must work swiftly – and we must deliver results for our peoples, our countries, and bring peace closer – real and fair peace that everyone is so eagerly awaiting. Everyone. Ukraine is ready to work, ready to work quickly, ready to work constructively, ready to work honestly, and this is precisely the approach we expect from all our partners – from Europeans and, of course, from the American side.

Of course, we also discussed air defense – first and foremost the supply of Patriots, which depends on the United States and can save many lives. We are preparing further diplomatic steps. Thank you to everyone who stands with us, with Ukraine!

Glory to Ukraine!
