In Odesa, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The Head of State thanked him for participating in the Ukraine–Southeast Europe Summit and for his consistent support for the Ukrainian people.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy briefed the Prime Minister on the progress of the negotiation process aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace, and shared his perspective on what kind of pressure on Russia could force it to end the war.
In particular, during the meeting, detailed attention was paid to Ukraine’s needs in protecting people from Russian shelling by strengthening its air defense capabilities.
The leaders also discussed Ukraine’s reconstruction, including efforts in Odesa and the region. Ukraine and Greece are both interested in restoring and developing port infrastructure as well. According to the President, these issues will be included on the agenda of the Ukraine Recovery Conference, which will be held in Rome on July 10–11.
