Olena Zelenska Discussed Ways to Help Ukrainians with American Philanthropists

In Dallas, First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska met with representatives of business and philanthropic circles of Texas. Executive Director of the George W. Bush Institute David J. Kramer moderated the event.

The President’s wife spoke about Russia’s crimes against Ukrainians, as well as ways to help people in Ukraine and the projects implemented by the Olena Zelenska Foundation.

“We work with partners from more than 35 countries. Thanks to our partners, we equip shelters in educational institutions, build housing for large foster families, and create psychosocial support spaces for teenagers and young people so that children in Ukraine have dignified conditions for life and development,” Olena Zelenska said.

The First Lady also met with George W. Bush and Laura Bush and thanked them for their long-standing support for Ukraine.

“A historic moment: on the eve of the 2008 Bucharest NATO Summit, George Bush visited Ukraine and emphasized Ukraine’s sovereign right to determine its own future. He expressed the view that Ukraine’s accession to NATO would be good policy for the Alliance itself and would strengthen global security. History has proven him right. Freedom and peace must be backed by security,” Olena Zelenska noted.
