In New York, First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska held a meeting with First Lady of the United States Melania Trump.
Olena Zelenska thanked Melania Trump for her support of Ukraine, and especially for her attention to children who have become victims of Russia’s brutal war against our country. The First Lady of Ukraine expressed particular gratitude for her letter appealing to the Russian ruler for peace for children.
The First Ladies discussed the importance of protecting shared values, above all children and their childhood.
“I believe in the effectiveness of soft power, in humanity, empathy, and the ability to change reality for the better. I am confident that through joint efforts we can help all children who need it,” said Olena Zelenska.
The First Lady of Ukraine thanked Melania Trump for the meeting and expressed hope for further cooperation to protect children in our country and around the world.
