The First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, took part in the opening of the Superhumans Dnipro regional center.
This is the second branch of the Superhumans Center network in Ukraine, following the Lviv center. The facility will provide prosthetics, physical rehabilitation, psychological support, and social integration services to both military personnel and civilians affected by Russian aggression.
The First Lady emphasized that Dnipro is a strategic medical hub, as a large number of wounded are evacuated here daily from the front line.
“Patients from frontline regions no longer have to travel across all of Ukraine to Lviv to receive prosthetics or consult with their therapists or psychologists,” Olena Zelenska noted.
Superhumans Dnipro is located in a former tuberculosis hospital building with an area of 2,800 m², which had been non-operational for more than two years. Renovation works began last summer.
The project is being implemented in partnership with the Government of the Netherlands, Netherlands 4 Ukraine, and Healthcare for Ukraine. The total budget for reconstruction and equipment amounts to EUR 4.3 million.
“Sometimes people say that building something in Ukraine today, especially in Dnipro, is a bold act. I would say, above all, it is a humane act. The courage to be humane and to bring help is the best kind of courage,” the First Lady stressed.
The Dnipro center will be able to accommodate at least 50 patients each month. More than 600 Ukrainians will undergo rehabilitation here annually and return to active life.
Over two years of operation, Superhumans has restored the health of more than 1,100 Ukrainians and performed over 1,500 complex surgeries.
