First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska held a video call with First Lady of Belize, Rossana Briceño.
Olena Zelenska expressed her gratitude for Belize’s consistent support of Ukraine, Rossana Briceño’s participation in the Summits of First Ladies and Gentlemen, and the joint organization of the event “Securing the Future for Children: Addressing New Challenges for Soft Power,” held on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
In addition, the First Lady of Belize is a member of a kindred organization, Spouses of CARICOM Leaders Action Network (SCLAN), the community of Caribbean leaders' spouses.
“Our organizations are united by shared values, and foremost among them is the desire to ensure safety and well-being – in daily life, healthcare, and education – for the people of our countries,” Olena Zelenska noted.
This year, SCLAN expressed its intention to support a new joint event proposed by the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. This was the central focus of the discussion.
“In 2025, the UN General Assembly marks its 80th anniversary, giving us the opportunity to demonstrate the unity of First Ladies and Gentlemen from different regions, united by a common goal. After all, throughout the years of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, my colleagues and I have seen that our soft power can truly save lives,” said the wife of the President of Ukraine.
Olena Zelenska invited Rossana Briceño to take part in the Fifth Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, which will be held in Kyiv this autumn.
“Each Summit attendee brings a unique set of experiences, expertise, and ideas that, together, we transform into tangible assistance,” Ukraine’s First Lady emphasized.
