President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in the meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, during which key issues of domestic and foreign policy were discussed.
The Head of State stressed: it’s important that the country has got through this difficult winter with dignity. According to the President, this required great efforts from all Ukrainians, first and foremost from our warriors.
“I want us to thank them – all the men and women who have done so much. I also want to thank communities, leadership, and civilians. And, of course, businesses and representatives of various enterprises who worked, protected business, defended our state, and filled the budget,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The President separately noted that the Verkhovna Rada had adopted decisions necessary to ensure macro-financial stability, advance European integration, and fulfill Ukraine’s commitments to partners. Important international meetings are being prepared in the near future to strengthen defense and financial support for our country.
According to the Head of State, one of the main priorities is preparation for the next winter and the implementation of resilience plans prepared by all Ukrainian regions. Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on all communities to pay particular attention to the protection of people and critical infrastructure.
“We know what the enemy is planning, but we are following our own path, strengthening ourselves. At the same time, there is also a diplomatic track. We must prepare for winter in any case and restore our energy capacity, no matter when this war ends. We will do everything to ensure it ends with a just peace as soon as possible,” the President emphasized.
The Head of State noted that Ukraine’s team is currently refining security guarantees, including funding for the Ukrainian army after the end of the war and the provision of necessary air defense systems.
“And also the most difficult issue is the response of the United States to a renewed aggression by Russia, if such aggression occurs. What exactly will be the response of the United States or the United States together with European colleagues – we are still working on these issues,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
The President also spoke about agreements with countries in the Middle East and the Gulf region. Ukraine is ready to share its expertise in protecting against air threats and attacks on critical infrastructure facilities, to actively cooperate in the defense sector, expecting assistance at the same time in strengthening its energy security.
