The Plan of Our Ukrainian Long-Range Sanctions Is Being Implemented Precisely as Intended – Address by the President

Dear Ukrainians!

Today, I signed a decree establishing a new special day – the Day of the Unmanned Systems Forces. From now on, it will be observed every year on June 11. A day of our respect and gratitude to the USF. For the first time in the world, such a branch of the military was created – in Ukraine. We are developing the USF to the max, and it is Ukrainians who have proved that through technology, ingenuity, and courage, we can change the nature of warfare. We can achieve objectives that were previously either completely out of reach of conventional weapons or extremely difficult to achieve and required an enormous expenditure of resources. In just one year since the establishment of the USF Grouping, Russian targets of various levels worth nearly $40 billion have been struck. Most importantly, these are different types of strikes, and each one expands our ability to save lives. The Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are truly a model for many other militaries. And in recent months, we are especially grateful for the mid-strikes: Russian military logistics throughout the entire depth of the temporarily occupied territory are now within reach of Ukrainian drones. Our impact reaches Russia’s border regions as well. The enemy feels it, and we will continue to expand it. We will continue strengthening the Unmanned Systems Forces. I thank you, warriors! And I thank all units and all branches of Ukraine’s Defense and Security Forces that together, in close coordination, deliver exactly the kind of strikes that are needed.

There was a briefing from the Commander-in-Chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi, and the Chief of the General Staff, Andrii Hnatov, on the situation at the front and the key operational directions. Of course, we also discussed in detail the mid-strikes and deep strikes currently being carried out. The plan of our Ukrainian long-range sanctions is being implemented precisely as intended. A Russian military plant in Cheboksary – 900 kilometers from Ukraine – was hit, and this was carried out by Ukrainian Flamingo missiles. There were also strikes on Russia’s oil industry facilities. We have achievements in the Black Sea region as well. I thank everyone involved – the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service, and our intelligence agencies.

I would like to especially recognize today our warriors on the front line – the positions are strong, and the tasks are being fulfilled. In particular, units of the Airborne Assault Forces: the 95th, 80th, and 79th brigades. Thank you! The 4th, 12th, and 14th brigades of the National Guard of Ukraine – thank you! The 155th Mechanized Brigade, the 25th Airborne Brigade, the 425th Assault Regiment, and every unit of the Unmanned Systems Forces – thank you!

We also had a detailed discussion today with our diplomatic team. The first and most important priority is implementing agreements with our partners. We have just had productive Ukraine–NB8 and Ukraine–E3 summits. Our partners are ready to help, particularly with air defense. It is precisely air defense, energy, and reinvigorating diplomacy that are Ukraine’s three priorities. I expect that everything we agreed upon is already being carried out by our respective teams – the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, and the Office of the President. We are also preparing for the critically important summits of the summer – the EU Summit, the G7 Summit, and the NATO Summit. Each of these platforms must deliver results for Ukraine. We are preparing the decisions. I thank everyone who is helping us!

Glory to Ukraine!
