President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone call with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
The Head of State expressed his gratitude for all the support, assistance, and maximum engagement on matters concerning Ukraine, not only this year, but from the very beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy highlighted the European Council’s extremely important decision to provide €90 billion in financial assistance to Ukraine for 2026–2027.
“We highly value the fact that the European Union is supporting Ukraine in such a way at this, in many respects, decisive diplomatic moment. Negotiations are currently ongoing that can fundamentally alter the situation, and it is essential to ensure the right joint pressure from all partners on Russia for the sake of peace,” the President noted.
The leaders discussed the importance of supporting Ukraine’s resilience and strengthening our positions at the negotiating table; they also agreed on further contacts in the coming days.
