Continued Support for Ukraine, Additional Contributions to PURL, and Diplomatic Efforts for Peace: The President Met with the National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Jonathan Powell, National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

The Head of State thanked the United Kingdom for its support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.

“We're very thankful for the decision made in recent days on the new support package. Not only military support. I understood that the teams spoke about some future steps with PURL. We would be thankful if these were supported by the UK,” the President noted.

During the Ukraine Recovery Conference held in Gdańsk, the United Kingdom announced a support package worth nearly £290 million.

Jonathan Powell noted Ukraine’s successes on the front lines, as well as the results of Ukrainian mid-range and deep strikes. The meeting also addressed the situation on the battlefield, in Ukraine’s temporarily occupied territories, including Crimea, and inside Russia – fuel shortages and shifting public sentiment.

The National Security Advisor briefed the President on his own contacts with allies, as well as those of the United Kingdom.

The discussion also covered upcoming bilateral and multilateral international events, including preparations for the NATO Summit in Ankara. The President outlined Ukraine’s diplomatic efforts to achieve peace. The sides discussed potential ways to reinvigorate the process and possible formats for negotiations.
