President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Norway, Jonas Gahr Støre, in Copenhagen.
The Head of State expressed gratitude to Norway for supporting Ukraine from the very start of Russia’s full-scale aggression and for providing USD 8.5 billion in assistance this year.
The leaders discussed continued defense support, including strengthening air defense and funding drone production in Ukraine.
A key focus of the meeting was countering Russian threats. Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Jonas Gahr Støre exchanged views on airspace violations, including by drones, in Norway, Poland, Denmark, Romania, and Estonia.
They also addressed the EU initiative to establish a Drone Wall. Ukraine is willing to share its expertise with Norway in countering Russian drones and hybrid attacks overall.
The PURL initiative, aimed at procuring weapons from the U.S. using partner contributions, was also discussed. The President thanked Norway for being among the first countries to join the program, contributing USD 150 million.
Additionally, the parties spoke about energy support for Ukraine. The Head of State expressed appreciation to Norway for allocating USD 100 million for gas imports.
