Strengthening Air Defense and Rebuilding Odesa’s Port Infrastructure: President Had a Call with the Prime Minister of Greece

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone call with Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

The Head of State thanked Kyriakos Mitsotakis for his participation in the International Ukraine Recovery Conference held in Rome in July, as well as for the large representation of Greek businesses.

The leaders discussed enhancing Ukraine’s air defense capabilities and increasing coordination with partners. Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about a new instrument for the procurement of U.S. weapons – PURL – which Ukraine is implementing jointly with NATO member states, and shared its initial results.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis voiced a proposal for Ukraine’s recovery, in particular the reconstruction of Odesa’s port infrastructure. This effort would also contribute to the development of transport and logistics corridors in the Southeast Europe region. The President and the Prime Minister agreed that their respective government teams would work on the implementation of the proposal.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Kyriakos Mitsotakis also discussed upcoming diplomatic efforts with partners aimed at coordinated decisions and joint action.
