On the Day of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska honored the memory of the fallen participants in the Revolution of Dignity.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Olena Zelenska placed memorial candles near the commemorative cross on the Alley of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred in Kyiv, where mass shootings of participants in the Revolution of Dignity took place in February 2014.
The President and the First Lady also paid tribute to the fallen Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred before their portraits.
“Ukrainians always defend what is theirs. Defend their independence. Dignity. Their right to live freely. It was the people who won freedom for Ukraine. Ordinary people who care about Ukraine's future and how Ukrainian children will live. We remember what it cost in 2014,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Olena Zelenska noted on social media.
The President and the First Lady called to honor the courage of everyone who took part in the Revolution of Dignity, everyone who did not leave the Maidan so that Ukraine would not be left without freedom.
The event was also attended by 49 representatives of foreign missions accredited in Ukraine.
