President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Canada’s Special Representative for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, Chrystia Freeland.
“We are grateful to Canada for its consistent support. Many thanks to the Prime Minister, and many thanks to you. You have done a great deal for Ukraine in various roles, and you continue working,” noted the Head of State.
The President also highlighted Canada’s contribution to the PURL initiative and to strengthening Ukraine’s air defense.
Chrystia Freeland emphasized that Canada will continue to support Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
“In Canada, we understand – and I believe the whole world understands – that our support for Ukraine is not only because there are many Canadians of Ukrainian descent. It is because we understand that you are fighting for the democratic world. And I am more convinced than ever that Ukraine’s struggle is a fight that will determine the fate of democracy in Europe and in the entire world,” she said.
One of the key topics of discussion was Ukraine’s reconstruction. The Head of State noted that our country counts on the involvement of Canadian business and Canadian investment in recovery, particularly in energy, agriculture, infrastructure, and other areas.
