President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Zeev Elkin, Additional Minister in the Ministry of Finance of Israel, who came to our country with an Israeli delegation to mark the 85th anniversary of the mass Nazi shootings at Babyn Yar.
“The anniversary of the Babyn Yar tragedy is important for all of us, for our history. We must not forget about it. Thank you for your visit,” the Head of State said.
Zeev Elkin thanked the President for the invitation and the opportunity to take part in the commemorative events.
The President underscored that Russia is trying to make these days of remembrance extremely difficult for people in Ukraine with its aerial terror and ongoing drone attacks.
“Of course, it was Iran that provided Russia with the technology to produce these jet-powered “shaheds,” and it has used essentially the same kind of weapon to attack Israel,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.
During the meeting, they discussed these and other threats, as well as the overall situation in the Middle East. According to the President, strong relations between Ukraine and Israel could certainly contribute to shared security.
Also participating in the meeting were Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Ukraine Roi Rosenblit and Honorary Consul of Israel in Lviv Oleg Vyshniakov.
