President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the Chief of the UK Defense Staff, Admiral Sir Antony Radakin, who is leaving his post, and his successor, Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton.
“We are very thankful to you, to your country, your Government, and your nation for having strengthened us so from the very beginning of this war. We are thankful to Keir, the Prime Minister, for such deep involvement in this process and with the Coalition of the Willing, and for the support,” the Head of State said.
During the meeting, they discussed the situation on the front lines and diplomatic efforts to end the war and achieve a real and lasting peace.
They also focused on the work of national security advisers on security guarantees for Ukraine and developments within the Coalition of the Willing. Antony Radakin briefed the President on the efforts being carried out at the level of commanders-in-chief and chiefs of defense staff of partner countries, as well as on his relevant meetings in Washington. The President emphasized the need to intensify work to the maximum and ensure clarity and transparency in everything related to security guarantees, including the military-political component.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Antony Radakin, and Richard Knighton discussed in detail the needs of Ukrainian warriors and the deliveries of necessary weapons. Special attention was given to funding Ukrainian drone production, strengthening the Ukrainian army, developing joint projects, and training missions.
“Our support for you and for Ukraine is not personality dependent; it's nation dependent. And Richard will continue that level of support in exactly the same way that you would expect,” Antony Radakin said.
