In Brussels, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Prime Minister of Finland Petteri Orpo.
The leaders discussed how to protect Ukraine against Russia’s brutal strikes on civilian infrastructure.
“Overnight and throughout today, Russia launched new strikes on our energy facilities. Parts of the Volyn region and Kyiv are still without power after yesterday evening’s attack,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.
The President stressed that Ukraine constantly needs the means to shoot down missiles and drones to protect people’s lives and critical infrastructure. New decisions to support Ukraine will come as early as this month. The Head of State noted that Finland has always helped us, and that this is greatly appreciated.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Petteri Orpo also discussed Ukraine’s need for shelters. Our country established the Shelter Coalition together with Finland, and now this work needs to be accelerated. The Head of State emphasized that every Ukrainian city and community must have proper shelters and thanked Finland for its readiness to support this effort.
