President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy highlighted the efforts of emergency responders who took part in addressing the aftermath of Russian strikes in recent days and weeks. The Head of State conveyed this in his evening address.
Today, Russia carried out brutal strikes on Shostka in the Sumy region, targeting the railway station and energy infrastructure. Russian attacks also hit other districts of the Sumy and Chernihiv regions. The electricity situation remains difficult after strikes in the Donetsk region.
“Our power engineers and repair crews are also working; all necessary services have been deployed to restore electricity. I also want to highlight the efforts of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine for their swift response wherever it is needed,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The President particularly commended the staff of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Sumy region: Squad Commander of the State Fire and Rescue Unit Oleksandr Kolyshenko, Squad Commander of the 19th State Fire and Rescue Unit Volodymyr Morozov, and Deputy Head of the 4th State Fire and Rescue Squad For Emergency Response Ihor Yaremenko.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also thanked the personnel of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Chernihiv region: Firefighter-Rescuer of the 25th State Fire and Rescue Unit in Chernihiv Anatolii Los, Head of the Operational Coordination Center Dmytro Dasiuk, Shift Supervisor of the 25th State Fire and Rescue Unit in Chernihiv Andrii Opanasenko, and Senior Assistant to the Shift Supervisor of the Operational Coordination Center Pavlo Tovstyi.
In addition, the President recognized the staff of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Kharkiv region: Senior Firefighter-Rescuer of the 50th State Fire and Rescue Unit Serhii Sumtsov, Firefighter-Rescuer of the 37th State Fire and Rescue Unit Viktor Hubin, Head of the 23rd State Fire and Rescue Unit Ihor Chahovets, and Shift Supervisor of the 50th State Fire and Rescue Unit Maksym Cholombytko.
Personnel of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Poltava region were also commended, especially: Shift Supervisor of the 28th State Fire and Rescue Unit in Sencha Viacheslav Yukhno, Squad Commander of the 6th State Fire and Rescue Unit in Hadyach Ihor Subota, Squad Commander of the 5th State Fire and Rescue Unit in Myrhorod Oleh Kolomiiets, and Head of the 10th State Fire and Rescue Unit in Reshetylivka Anatolii Davydenko.
