President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commended the rescuers who participated in eliminating the consequences of recent Russian attacks in southern Ukraine. The Head of State made the statement during his evening address.
“Wherever necessary, restoration efforts continue around the clock. This is often heroic work by our repair crews, power engineers, engaged utility services, and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, especially in areas near the Russian border and along the front line,” emphasized Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The President recognized the personnel of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region: Squad Commander of the 9th State Fire and Rescue Unit Ruslan Bobok, Senior Driver of the 9th State Fire and Rescue Unit Oleksandr Semenov, Firefighter-Rescuer of the 9th State Fire and Rescue Unit Yurii Afanasiev, Firefighter-Rescuer of the 22nd State Fire and Rescue Unit Andrii Mandziuk, Senior Firefighter-Rescuer of the 6th State Fire and Rescue Unit Serhii Morozov, Senior Firefighter-Rescuer of the 6th State Fire and Rescue Unit Vitalii Burlak, Chief of the 1st State Fire and Rescue Unit Vitalii Hrytsak, Driver of the 7th State Fire and Rescue Unit Serhii Liepshyi, Shift Supervisor of the 7th State Fire and Rescue Unit Yevhen Bielchenko, Senior Firefighter-Rescuer of the 7th State Fire and Rescue Unit Oleksiy Maloman.
In the Odesa region, rescuers extinguished fires caused by Russian drone strikes on energy infrastructure, warehouses, administrative buildings, and service stations. On December 12, the State Emergency Service personnel also put out a fire on a ferry following a missile strike and drone attacks at the Chornomorsk Fish Port.
The Head of State expressed gratitude to the personnel of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Mykolaiv region: Squad Commander of the 5th State Fire and Rescue Unit Volodymyr Krytskyi, Firefighter-Rescuer of the 5th State Fire and Rescue Unit Vladyslav Vozniuk, Shift Supervisor of the 26th State Fire and Rescue Unit Dmytro Zarvanskyi, Squad Commander of the 26th State Fire and Rescue Unit Andrii Kravchenko, Firefighter-Rescuer of the 19th State Fire and Rescue Unit Oleksandr Babii.
In the Mykolaiv region, rescuers extinguished fires caused by missile and drone strikes on energy facilities, private homes, and warehouses.
“I thank you and your colleagues! Every our region, every city, every community must be able to rely on the full effectiveness of emergency services, energy companies, and every government institution. The Ukrainian government must provide maximum support, and we are ensuring resources for this, including through our work with partners,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
