President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to the first responders of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine who are engaged in work at energy facilities and who have distinguished themselves the most over the past week.
“Today, it is worth especially recognizing the work of all the first responders who, at any time, in any weather, and under any circumstances – including under shelling – work together with energy workers and with everyone else so that people can live,” the Head of State said in his evening address.
The President highlighted personnel of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kyiv: Anatolii Kolomiiets, head of a rescue unit of the rescue operations group of the Special-Purpose Emergency Rescue Detachment; Volodymyr Strilchuk and Vasyl Vashchenko, rescuers of the same rescue unit; Yevhen Shepetun, power plant operator of the engineering support unit for emergency response operations; and Mykhailo Chornokalov, commander of the crane and lifting unit of the engineering support unit for emergency response operations.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also thanked employees of the Main Mobile Rapid Response Rescue Center of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine: Oleksandr Kozhara, driver of the engineering support and emergency response unit; Ruslan Dubyk, senior driver of the same unit; Serhii Kovalchuk, head of the emergency rescue unit for emergency response operations; Serhii Hubenko, rescuer of the emergency rescue unit; and Maksym Yepifanov, rescuer-engine operator of the emergency rescue unit.
All of them took part in emergency recovery operations during the dismantling and removal of structures at a CHP plant in Kyiv that were destroyed as a result of Russian shelling. This made it possible to restore equipment and put the power generation facility back into operation.
At the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Kyiv region, the personnel involved in work at the Trypilska TPP plant included rescuers Dmytro Tkachenko, Oleksandr Mykoda, and Ivan Khmelnytskyi from the rescue unit of the Special-Purpose Emergency Rescue Detachment; Ivan Tymchenko, commander of a unit of the 46th State Fire and Rescue Station; and Ruslan Plakhtiienko, firefighter of the same station.
“Thank you, guys – and thank you to all your colleagues, to each and every person whose work is helping Ukraine withstand these days, this winter,” the President emphasized.
