President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with students of one of Zaporizhzhia’s specialized schools located in a shelter.
The Head of State talked with the students about their studies, favorite subjects, safety, and dreams. Together with the children, he also took part in creative and tactical medicine classes.
In total, 500 students study at this school, but thanks to the shelter, about one thousand schoolchildren can study in two shifts. This allows children from another educational institution to study here as well.
The school in a shelter has classrooms equipped with desks, TVs, multimedia boards, and gadgets. It also has a medical room, a buffet, a recreation area, restrooms, and a sports area.
Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov reported to the President that 13 schools in shelters are already operating in the region, and another 11 are planned to be equipped by the end of the year. He also noted that the Zaporizhzhia region is implementing the school nutrition reform initiated by First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska. In total, 23,000 students across the region are provided with hot meals. In the future, plans include building a kitchen factory and establishing one main and seven hub kitchens. At this shelter-based school, children receive hot meals through a catering model.
