President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy convened a special meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief following several days of discussions with the commanders of the army corps carrying out the most critical combat missions.
For the first time, there was direct, first-hand dialogue between leading weapons and military equipment manufacturers, the corps commanders who actually use their products, representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Finance, and the country's key special services.
The meeting was attended by the Commander of the Airborne Assault Forces, the commanders of the 10th, 11th, and 19th Army Corps, the Khartiia and Azov Corps, as well as representatives of Ukraine's new defense industry.
The participants discussed actual battlefield needs, delays in supplies, unresolved procurement matters, the additional funding required, and contracts for the supply of drones of all types, ground robotic systems, long-range artillery munitions needed on virtually every sector of intensive fighting, and other equipment. They agreed to establish a regular format for this kind of dialogue between the corps, manufacturers, and government agencies, coordinated by the Ministry of Defense and the National Security and Defense Council.
Special attention was also given to specific data on product defects identified during their use by combat units.
"It is important that manufacturers hear this feedback and promptly address what needs to be fixed. I have scheduled meetings with other corps commanders for tomorrow as well. We need feedback from across the entire corps system of Ukraine's Defense Forces. I will continue determining what adjustments should be made to Ukraine's defense strategy and which production and military supply priorities must be implemented as quickly as possible," the Head of State stressed.
The meeting also addressed numerous issues related to air defense and the tasks for Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and our diplomacy as a whole.
"I am grateful to everyone today for their openness, honesty, and substantive contributions. Ukraine must enter August as strong as possible and be prepared for different possible scenarios and Russia's behavior this fall. Thank you to everyone who is helping. Thank you to every warrior and every unit defending our positions and destroying Russian forces," the President said.
