President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone call with Federal Chancellor of Austria Christian Stocker.
They discussed the energy situation in Ukraine. Russia strikes energy infrastructure every day to leave Ukrainians without electricity and heat, and it is very important that partners respond to this. The President thanked Austria for the funds allocated last week to support Ukraine’s energy sector. The leaders also discussed other ways to support Ukraine’s energy system.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed Christian Stocker about the trilateral meetings involving the Ukrainian, American, and Russian delegations that took place in the United Arab Emirates last week. The Head of State noted that, among other issues, security guarantees were discussed.
“Ukraine’s accession to the European Union is one of the key security guarantees not only for us, but also for all of Europe. After all, Europe’s collective strength is possible, in particular, thanks to Ukraine’s security, technological, and economic contributions. That is why we are speaking about a concrete date – 2027 – and we count on partners’ support for our position,” the President emphasized.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited Christian Stocker to visit Ukraine to continue the dialogue during an in-person meeting.
