President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with President of the Hellenic Parliament Nikitas Kaklamanis.
The Head of State expressed gratitude to Greece, the President of the Parliament, and all MPs for supporting Ukraine and Ukrainian families from the very beginning of Russia’s full-scale aggression.
“This support has taken many forms – military, financial, humanitarian – all of which are extremely important. Today, we have a new path ahead of us – a future in terms of energy stability. I am grateful for all these expressions of support from the Greek people,” the President said.
Nikitas Kaklamanis assured that Greece and the Hellenic Parliament will continue to stand with Ukraine.
“The Hellenic Parliament wishes for peace to come to Ukraine as soon as possible. And to achieve durable peace, we must first secure a ceasefire,” he noted.
The discussion of the paths toward achieving a real peace for Ukraine was one of the key topics of the meeting. The parties discussed the necessary pressure that China and the United States could exert on Russia to bring the war to an end. The President of Ukraine and the President of the Hellenic Parliament share a common position: lasting peace must be based on respect for international law.
The parties also discussed cooperation between Ukraine and Greece at the parliamentary level. Nikitas Kaklamanis emphasized that Greek parliamentarians are ready to engage with their Ukrainian colleagues in all possible areas.
