President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone call with Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson.

The Head of State thanked Sweden for its support and clear position on Russia’s war against Ukraine and Ukrainians.

The key topic of the discussion was air defense and the steps that can be taken to provide greater protection.

“We now see that the Russians are putting their eggs in the basket of ballistic missile strikes, combined attacks, and jet-powered ‘shaheds.’ Protection against this is the key to depriving Russia of the ability to drag out the war,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.

The President noted that active work is underway to ensure, on time, all the infrastructure, training and operational deployment of the Swedish Gripen fighter jets.

“This is a historic strengthening of our combat aviation and major economic cooperation between Ukraine and Sweden in the security sphere. It must be absolutely effective,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.

Work is also ongoing within the Ukraine-Sweden Drone Deal format.

The President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Sweden agreed on their next contacts.
