President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held his first phone call of the year with President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides.
The Head of State congratulated Nikos Christodoulides on the beginning of Cyprus’s presidency of the Council of the European Union. Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine counts on strong decisions that will strengthen both our country and all of Europe over the next six months. It is important that Ukraine be among the key priorities during the Cypriot presidency.
The President noted that Ukraine’s membership in the European Union is one of the security guarantees for our country, and that Ukraine, for its part, is always doing everything necessary.
The Head of State shared the latest details of contacts with American partners and informed about the overall diplomatic situation. Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that the work to achieve peace is effectively ongoing around the clock.
The President thanked Cyprus and the entire Cypriot people for their support and expressed special gratitude to Nikos Christodoulides for his warm words about Ukrainians and Ukraine.
