President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone call with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The Head of State expressed gratitude for the support of the Ukrainian people, independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that international law, the fundamental principles of the UN Charter, and common sense must prevail in the world – namely, respect for the borders and territorial integrity of states, as well as for the dignity of every nation.
The President of Ukraine noted that attempts to partition any independent state are extremely dangerous for every nation. History has repeatedly shown that if such injustice is allowed against one state, it does not end there. Therefore, it is important for all countries of the world to achieve a just and lasting peace for Ukraine based on respect for the sovereign rights of the Ukrainian people.
The Head of State informed President Tokayev about diplomatic work with U.S. President Donald Trump and European partners, as well as about the agreements reached. Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that a meeting of national security advisors had taken place the day before and that Europe had agreed on a coordinated position: Russia's war against Ukraine must end as soon as possible with a reliable peace.
The President of Ukraine emphasized that Russia continues to do everything to prolong hostilities, refuses to stop the killings, and seeks to bargain for better positions on the frontline for future attacks. Such destructive behavior by Russia must stop.
The Head of State stressed that Ukraine is ready to work as productively as possible with all partners for the sake of real peace. Issues concerning our country must be resolved with the participation of Ukraine, and all partners understand this.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev agreed to maintain contact and work on bringing the relations between the two countries and their people closer.
The Head of State invited the President of Kazakhstan to visit Ukraine.
