President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa. The call took place at the request of President Ramaphosa.
The Head of State informed him about the joint diplomatic efforts with partners and the productive meetings with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that this war, which nobody ever needed except Russia, must be brought to an end. The President reaffirmed his readiness for any format of meeting with the head of Russia. However, Moscow is once again attempting to delay the negotiation process.
Ukraine expects that countries of the Global South will send appropriate signals and push Russia toward peace.
The leaders also discussed their future contacts with partners.
They separately addressed opportunities for joint work with the African continent to develop relations, create a platform for dialogue, and ensure food security.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Cyril Ramaphosa agreed to maintain contact.
