President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone call with the President of the Philippines, Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
The Head of State expressed his condolences to the President of the Philippines over the lives lost and the destruction caused by the typhoons.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy briefed his counterpart on joint work with the United States and other partners on steps toward establishing a guaranteed peace. The President expressed his gratitude for the Philippines’ support for the peace efforts, for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and for the clear stance.
The leaders discussed areas of cooperation: food security, agriculture, and digitalization. The Philippines is also interested in the expertise and technologies Ukraine can offer. The Heads of State agreed that their teams will follow up on all these matters in the near future.
In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the Embassy of Ukraine has been operating in Manila for almost a year and proposed opening the Embassy of the Philippines in our country. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. supported this proposal.
