President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone call with President of the United States Donald Trump.
Also participating in the call were envoys of President Trump – Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Ukrainian and U.S. negotiators are currently working intensively and thanked them for all their work and for their active involvement in the negotiations and the efforts to end the war.
The Head of State emphasized that Ukraine greatly values the implementation of the PURL initiative. This winter is the most difficult one for our country, but the missiles for air defense systems that Ukraine can purchase from the U.S. are helping a lot in overcoming all these challenges and protecting lives.
The President of Ukraine and the President of the United States also discussed the issues that their representatives will address on February 26 in Geneva during the bilateral meeting.
They also covered preparations for the next meeting of the full negotiating teams in a trilateral format at the very beginning of March. Ukraine expects this meeting to create an opportunity to move talks to the leaders’ level. President Donald Trump supports this sequence of steps.
“This is the only way to resolve all the complex and sensitive issues and finally end the war,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated.
