President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone call with President of the United States of America Donald Trump.
The Head of State thanked President Trump for his personal efforts toward a just and lasting peace. Ukraine fully supports the urgent need to stop the killing. This issue was central to the discussion.
The leaders coordinated their positions and exchanged assessments of the situation. Donald Trump is informed about the increased number of Russian strikes, as well as about the attacks on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities and communities.
The Presidents of Ukraine and the United States also discussed sanctions against Russia. The Russian economy continues to decline, which is precisely why Moscow is so sensitive to the prospect of tougher sanctions and President Trump’s resolve.
The conversation also addressed joint European decisions that could contribute to Ukraine’s defense. The Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark have already committed over $1 billion for the purchase of American weapons. This cooperation with NATO countries will continue.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump also discussed bilateral cooperation. The President of Ukraine emphasized that the Ukrainian side has already prepared a draft agreement on drones. Ukraine is ready to discuss the document in detail and sign it.
