The President of Ukraine and the Chancellor of Germany Discussed the Potential Delivery of Additional Anti-Ballistic Missiles

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz.

The Head of State thanked Germany for its leadership in strengthening Ukraine’s air defense and its active support for the PURL initiative, which enables Ukraine to procure anti-ballistic missiles that are in short supply. The President briefed the Chancellor on the consequences of Russia’s massive attacks on Ukraine and the urgent need for additional missiles for Patriot systems.

The leaders discussed solutions that could help strengthen protection against Russian terror, work with partners in this area, and further support for PURL.

In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Friedrich Merz spoke about preparations for a Drone Deal between Ukraine and Germany and work toward creating a European anti-ballistic system with the participation of German defense companies within the FREYA program.
