President of Ukraine Met with King Philippe of the Belgians

In Brussels, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had an audience with His Majesty King Philippe of the Belgians.

The Head of State thanked His Majesty, the government, and the Belgian people for their support of Ukraine throughout all the years of Russia’s full-scale aggression against our country.

The President briefed the King on Russian escalation and constant drone and missile attacks on Ukrainian cities and communities, including Russia’s strike on Pryluky, which claimed the lives of 22 people. Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that one and a half sections of an apartment building were completely destroyed, and it is now important to provide new housing for people who have lost their homes. In addition, reliable shelters need to be equipped.

The Head of State emphasized that strengthening Ukrainian air defense is now our country’s top priority. Work with partners continues at various levels to secure the necessary number of weapons to shoot down Russian missiles and drones as soon as possible. Ukraine counts on Belgium’s support in this area, particularly with the delivery of F-16 fighter jets and ammunition for them, which help us defend against Russian jet-powered “shaheds.”

Separately, Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that it is equally important that frozen Russian assets remain immobilized. According to the Head of State, as long as the war continues, Russia must not receive anything it could invest in further killings and destabilization in Europe.
