In Jeddah, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.
The leaders discussed the implementation of a strategic security agreement across three areas.
“The first is the export of our Ukrainian security expertise and capabilities in air defense. The second is energy cooperation, which makes Ukraine more resilient in this difficult time. The third is the area of food security. We are working together to strengthen our peoples and our partners,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.
The President stressed that Ukraine is ready to share its experience and expertise for mutually beneficial cooperation with Saudi Arabia in protecting lives.
Particular attention was given to energy resilience, especially in the context of the fuel market crisis caused by the situation surrounding Iran and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
The discussion also covered prospects for Saudi Arabia’s participation in infrastructure projects, Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction, as well as partnership in the financial sector and other state projects.
The leaders set tasks for their teams and expect them to be implemented promptly and in full.
“Now, when international relations are significantly destabilized, it is precisely this kind of bilateral engagement that restores confidence. We also exchanged assessments of the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf. We hope for greater security, and we are helping to bring it closer,” the President of Ukraine emphasized.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud about the ongoing negotiation process aimed at ending Russia’s war against Ukraine and thanked Saudi Arabia for all its efforts.
