President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy honored the memory of those killed at the site of the Russian strike on a nine-story residential building in Kyiv’s Sviatoshynskyi district.
On the night of July 31, Russia destroyed an entire section of the building. The attack claimed the lives of 28 residents, including five children, and injured 21 people.
The President laid flowers at the destroyed section and spoke with residents of the building, who are now in need of assistance.
“We will help you all. Tomorrow, ministers will meet and quickly adopt decisions to support you. I don’t want to burden you with bureaucracy right now. They’ve already prepared everything needed to ensure you receive the money and understand where you’ll be living – so that everything is clear,” the Head of State said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked everyone who worked at the site – those who responded to the aftermath, helped people, rescued victims, and cleared the rubble.
Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko informed the Head of State that 216 personnel and 54 units of State Emergency Service equipment had been involved in the response at this site alone. Search and rescue operations were completed only this morning.
According to him, 470 house residents have filed reports about lost or damaged property.
In total, during this massive attack on Kyiv, Russia killed 31 people and injured 179.
