The President Enacted a New Sanctions Package against Five Individuals Threatening Ukraine’s National Interests, Security, Sovereignty, and Territorial Integrity

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a decree enacting a decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to impose personal sanctions on five individuals. Their actions threaten Ukraine’s national interests, security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

The sanctions apply to Ukrainian lawyer Andrii Bohdan; Ukrainian businessman and associate and partner of sanctioned Viktor Medvedchuk, Bohdan Pukish; Russian businessman Alan Kiriukhin, a key manager of the sanctioned A7A5 payment system used to circumvent sanctions; as well as functionaries and propagandists of Russian Olympic sport, Stanislav Pozdniakov and Mikhail Mamiashvili.

The restrictive measures include deprivation of Ukrainian state awards, asset freezes, suspension of trade operations, prevention of capital withdrawal from Ukraine, suspension or revocation of licenses and other permits, and a ban on participation in privatization and rental of state property.

The sanctions are imposed for 10 years, except for the deprivation of Ukrainian state awards, which is applied indefinitely.
