President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with scientists, presented them with state awards, and conferred honorary titles.
The Head of State noted that during wartime, Ukrainian scientists have developed technologies and inventions that are effectively used by warriors on the front lines and medical personnel. He also expressed gratitude to the scientists for their work.
“We are engaging young specialists as well as highly respected and experienced professionals. I see various directions, different types of weapons, different defense systems. This is evident in technologies, electronic warfare systems, naval drones, and more,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
During the meeting, the participants discussed ways to make the process of implementing scientific developments in the defense-industrial complex more efficient and faster. The Head of State instructed the Ministry of Strategic Industries to establish closer communication with scientists. According to him, this will enable direct discussions and scaling of the most relevant technologies and developments.
Special attention was given to raising the social status of scientists. Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of increasing support for scientists, including providing financial rewards for patented inventions and innovative developments.
“These are absolutely talented people who should and must be given as many motivating factors as possible so they stay in Ukraine not only out of love and patriotism – which is undoubtedly very important – but there must be more than just that,” the President stressed.
The Head of State also reviewed a presentation on defense research and developments by Ukrainian scientists.
