In Munich, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with exiled Crown Prince of Iran Reza Pahlavi.
The Head of State expressed sympathy to the victims of the Iranian regime and noted that Ukraine supports the Iranian people as they are fighting for their future. The Crown Prince of Iran thanked Ukraine for recognizing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Reza Pahlavi condemned the cooperation between Russia and Iran, in particular the supply of “shaheds” by the Iranian regime to Russia and the granting of licenses for their production. Such a partnership poses a real threat not only to Ukraine but to the entire region.
The Crown Prince provided detailed information on the overall situation in Iran. Over 40,000 people have been killed during attempts to suppress protests. Mass burials have been recorded, and identifying the true number of casualties is extremely difficult.
Reza Pahlavi also outlined the areas in which the Iranian people require support. The sides discussed the significance of strengthening sanctions against the Iranian regime and any other dictatorial regimes.
The President emphasized the importance of making every effort to protect human lives and assured that Ukraine is ready to help on its part. The Crown Prince of Iran expressed support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
