President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone call with President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The leaders discussed the situation surrounding Iran. Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine is ready to share its expertise to prevent the expansion of war and protect lives, while also highlighting that Ukrainians require strengthening of their own air defense and count on appropriate support from their partners.
Special attention was given to the negotiation process aimed at achieving a dignified peace in Ukraine. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan noted that Türkiye is ready to host the next round of talks in a trilateral format. Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked him for this initiative, highlighting that several meetings held in Istanbul last year helped achieve significant progress in the return of Ukrainians from Russian captivity. The Head of State expressed hope that the upcoming negotiations will also deliver meaningful results.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also personally thanked Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, for Türkiye’s readiness to play a role in ensuring maritime security within the framework of the Coalition of the Willing, and for future decisions to assist the Ukrainian energy sector.
The presidents agreed to remain in contact, both at their level and through their foreign ministers.
