President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
“Both the U.S. and Ukraine want to see this senseless Russian war ended before winter. We discussed potential de-escalatory steps that can open up the way to diplomacy,” the Head of State said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Donald Trump for the continued work by the Ukrainian and U.S. teams on launching Patriot interceptor production in Ukraine.
“This is what will help protect lives, should Russia spurn the negotiations and keep betting on ballistic missile terror against our people this winter and beyond,” the President of Ukraine emphasized.
The leaders also discussed other bilateral and multilateral issues, including a winter air defense package for Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked President Trump, his team, and the American people for their support.
